Used Kia Picanto

The Kia Picanto is a city car, based on a modified version of the Hyundai Getz chassis, and was introduced by the Korean manufacturer in 2004.  The Picanto quickly earned plaudits for offering reliable, cheap to buy, and cheap to run city motoring.  It helped Kia forge its reputation in the UK, and the Korean firm now has a much larger share of the UK car market. The latest Kia Picanto was only released last year, and comes with Kia’s impressive seven-year warranty.

The Kia Picanto is a credible option for buyers looking for an economical small car, with the first generation of the Picanto being equipped with a range of fuel efficient 1.0-litre, 1.1-litre, or 1.2-litre petrol engines, or a 1.1-litre diesel engine.  Don’t expect rip-roaring performance on the open road, but around town the Kia Picanto is more than capable.  Residual values are not particularly strong for older examples, so it should be possible to grab a bargain, particularly if you shop around for one of the higher specification models in the Picanto range.

As Kia’s market share has grown in the UK, so has its UK dealership network.  You may want to explore these first for a used Kia Picanto, as some people prefer the piece of mind of purchasing an approved used car from a main dealer as the cars history may be clearer and it may come with a longer warranty.  When purchasing from a private seller, it may give you extra piece of mind to conduct checks into the car's history.  A number of firms offer checks into used cars to ensure it is not stolen, has never been written off, and doesn’t have outstanding finance against it.
